Rose de La Reine is a very sheer pink beige lipstick with a lot of blueish shimmer. It is a part of Guerlain holiday 2010 collection. I’ve wanted it ever since the promo pictures came out, but I’ve forgotten about it until I saw it two days ago.
The lipstick could pass as nude, but it is still pink. The shimmer is very tiny and there is a lot of it, but it is not very obvious. I’ve expected that Kiss Kiss Strass line would be more glittery.
The staying power is decent, the lipstick feels comfortable on the lips. It is not very moisturizing but it is neither drying. The staying power is average and the lipstick has a violet vanilla scent.
Overall, it is a very nice lipstick and I might check other from the Kiss Kiss Strass line.

This is my so-far favourite item of Guerlain holiday 2010 collection. You get 30grams of pearls for $56.
The pearls are housed in a silver box which looks metallic on the outside, but the inside is made of black plastic. The cap is completely metallic and has a golden bee in bas-relief. The pearls come with a black puff (regular Meteorites come with a white one).
The shade Perles d’Or contain five different pearl coulours: white, light champagne, golden, light pink and medium dark eggplant.
I’ve bought three versions of Meteorites pearls so far (Perles d’Or, Midnight Butterfly pearls from holiday 2009 and regular Meteorites in Teint Dore) and this version is the least shimmery of these three.
While I use others shades of Meteorites on the whole face, this is not possible with this one. Perles d’Or, contrary to its name, leave a pink colour on the skin. Therefore, do not use it all over your face as you will end up looking very pink.
So how can you use it?

Even though Guerlain spring collection has already hit the counters in the US, we in Europe must satisfy ourselves with Holiday collection.
The eyeshadow comes in a golden case (much warmer shade of gold than the regular quads) with a mirror and there are also two sponge applicators included. You also get a black velvet pouch with a bee on it.
The eyeshadow quad retails for $59. Remember my post about a different amount of the eyeshadow you get in the quads? This quad isn’t oversprayed, but it has a bas-relief design of honey-comb and a bee, and it contains 7,2 grams of eyeshadow (just like the regular ones).
There are four colours: shimmery golden honey, slightly shimmery violet, grey (which looks like it has a lavender shimmer, but it doesn’t show up on the swatch) and matte black.
I’ve been talking a lot about the very weak quality of Guerlain eyeshadows, but this quad is among better ones.
Three darker shades (violet, grey and black) are well pigmented and have silky texture. I only have a problem with the golden shade, because sometimes it seems too gritty and it is not very pigmented. This is probably due to shimmer.
Staying power of these eyeshadows is great – they stay up to 6 hours without a primer on my very oily lids. If I wear a primer, they last for well over 18 hours without creasing.
Even though the golden shade looks a bit out-of-place, it is possible to create many looks with this combination. Also, you can use golden shade as a „topcoat“ over the matte black – the tiny golden shimmer particles give more dimension to the dull matte black.

Guerlain Holiday 2010 collection came a bit late in my country, and I wasn’t sure if I’ll purchase anything. The promo pictures seemed nice, but since I’ve been on a vacation, I didn’t have the time to test everything.
Finally, yesterday, I’ve picked the eyeshadow quad and the meteorites. I’ve also decided to get a lip-balm, so I’ve picked Kiss Kiss Baby.
This is the list of the stuff I’ve purchased:
Guerlain Ombre 4 Eclats #410 Velours d’Or (7,2gr for $59)
Meteorites Illuminating Powder Perles d”Or (30gr for $56)
Kiss Kiss Baby in #200 Crystal Nude ($31)
I know that holiday collection is almost passe, but since it is still available, the reviews will follow soon, so that those still indecisive may pick something up.
I am disappointed with this collection. It is not bad, there are some very nice glosses, #35 lipstick and the palette (which is as it seems a rose toned highlighter), but there is nothing that impresses me so much that I can’t wait for it to come to the counters.
Metallic Colorama holiday collection contains:
Ombres Duolumières #33 – Silver Grey/Golden Plum
Mascara Effet Faux Cils #9 – Crimson
Golden Gloss in:
Rouge Pur Shine in:
#34 Or Métallique
#35 Rose Métallique
Metallic Colorama Palette
3 shades of nailpolish

Guerlain released the photos of the upcoming holiday collection.
The only thing I can say about it is that they have done it again – another amazing collection. I can’t wait to see it in the stores.
