FINISHED! January Edition

Hello lovelies,

if you are following me on Instagram or Twitter, you could have seen that I finally have a new camera (Canon EOS 600D) and so far I’m loving it. Of course, I’m still learning and experimentating (I’ve had it for only two days), but this post will feature the first pictures I’ve taken with it.

As I’ve been promising, January is finally the month where I have some substantial amounts of products to show. So let’s start.

Zdravo dragi,

BODYCARE / NJEGA TIJELA:

finished january bath

YVES ROCHER Jardins du Monde Fleur de Cotton and Ylang Ylang shower gel. The whole Yves Rocher is my favourite – cleansing and non-drying. As for the scent, I prefer Ylang Ylang. / YVES ROCHER Jardins du Monde Fleur de Cotton and Ylang Ylang gelovi za tuširanje.

AVEO Berry Nail Polish Remover. I’ve heard many raves about this product, but to me it is nothing special. It smells sickly sweet. I won’t repurchase it.

An excellent body cream if you like the scent.

ARTDECO Intensive Nail Treatment. I couldn’t have waited to get rid of it. It did nothing. / ARTDECO Intensive Nail Treatment. Nisam mogla dočekati da ga konačno potrošim jer od ovog proizvoda apsolutno nije bilo nikakve koristi.

SKINCARE / NJEGA LICA:

finished january

SISLEY Lyslait and Floral Toning Lotion. I’ve reviewed them many times so I won’t anymore.

SISLEY Moisturizer with Cucumber. A nice moisturizer if you have combination or oily skin. It is not good enough in winter. / SISLEY Moisturizer with Cucumber.

L’OCCITANE Angelica Protective Lotion. A basic moisturizer. Nothing special. / L’OCCITANE Angelica Protective Lotion. Standardna hidratantna krema, ništa posebno.

SISLEY Sisleya Radiance Anti Aging Concentrate. It is one of my favourite serums – it makes my skin look more radiant and healthier. / SISLEY Sisleya Radiance Anti Ageing Concentrate. Jedan od meni najdražih seruma jer mi koža izgleda sjajnije i zdravije.

MAKE-UP and FRAGRANCE / ŠMINKA i PARFEMI

finished january makeup and fragrance

YVES SAINT LAURENT Teint Parfait. It is my favourite primer/tinted moisturizer and it is a shame it has been discontinued. / YVES LAURENT Teint Parfait.

GUERLAIN Rouge G in Gaela. A lovely, albeit a bit too cold pink. The lipstick was very pigmented, but not as moisturizing as I’d like. I probably won’t purchase more Rouges G because I prefer the formula of Rouge Automatique. / GUERLAIN Rouge G u nijansi Gaela. Vrlo lijepa iako malčice prehladna nijansa roze.

NAOMI CAMPBELL Paradise Passion. This fragrance stinks awfully. I kind of hope that the sample has gone bad because I can’t believe that someone would actually launch something so stinky. / NAOMI CAMPBELL Paradise Passion.

MOSCHINO Hippy Fizz. A cheap fruity horror. / MOSCHINO Hippy Fizz. Jeftin voćni užas.

Well, that would be it. I’m planning to swatch many lipsticks, so stay tuned. Until you hear from me the next time, enjoy your weekend.

Love, Tamara

FINISHED! May Edition

Although I haven’t planned it, I’ve decided to make this FINISHED! posts a monthly feature. At least this way I won’t feel so much like a hoarder. Plus, I’m becoming obsessed with minimalism, so it will feel good to spend some things without bringing in new things.

The products I have finished in May are:

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Chance. The formula is good and maybe in some far future I’ll purchase one (currently I have too much lipsticks), but I’ won’t get this colour. It doesn’t look so good on my complexion.

Dior Dior Waterproof Khol in Noir Trinidad. It has taken me several years (I think 3 or 4), but I have finaly spent an eye pencil. I love it and I’ll definitely repurchase.

Bioderma Photoderm AKN Mat SPF30 sunscreen sample. I have spent the sample and I’m already using the full-size.

Sisley Instant Perfect sample. I have spent the sample and I like it very much. I have already purchased the full-size, but first I have to spend YSL primer.

Sisley Express Flower Gel GWP. I love it and I have several GWPs in backup. I don’t even want to imagine the day I’ll spend it all and have to purchase the full-size.

48 Protective Hand Cream. I’m not so happy about this. I liked it during winter, because the cream creates some sort of a coat on the skin, so the skin is protected from environmental influence, but it doesn’t moisturizer.

L’Occitane Shea Butter Body Cream. Love it and I’ll get the full size

I believe that’s all. 7 products – not so bad. I have several more items that I’ll spend during the next month or two – one of which is a foundation – yay! I also hope to spend several more lipsticks and/or lipglosses.

I’m considering adding a FINISHED box in my make-up storage in which I’d put the packaging of all the items I have finished during the current month, so that in the end I can be sure that all the items are accounted for.

Did you finish any cosmetic product?

STASH Inventory (January to April) and Low Buy Update 1.0

Do you know what an empty eyeshadow compact looks like?  Well, I finally know since I have managed to spend one whole eyeshadow (it took me several years to do it).

This post has been waiting for weeks . I wanted to do an update of my spending habits every three months, but I didn’t have much time in March. Therefore, the April update is the first one. You can expect one update in June, one in September and one in December (although I might reconsider more frequent updates if I spend enough products).

For reference and to clarify things you can read this post: New Year Resolution: Low Buy.

For January 2012 Stash inventory click here (makeup) and here (skincare).

I have assinged myself a make-up and skincare budget which will have to last me during the year. After much thinking, I’ve decided to exclude the fragrance. Nevertheless, even with the exclusion of the fragrance, I feel like I have spent too much money in too short time. Basically, after 4 months, I have managed to go through two fifths of my budget (there were some pretty good sales). As from now, I’ll have to be more careful in my purchases, as I was planning that at least 1000 kunas will remain.

Still, I have to focus on the good and the good is that I have managed to spend some products.

When it comes to make-up, I have only spent Sisley Phyto Ombre Eclat in Vanilla. This was my everyday, go-to all-over-the-lid eyeshadow. I won’t repurchase this shade as I have found a pretty similar one in Inglot and to pay for over $50 for a basic vanilla beige eyeshadow is a bit too much. I still recommend Sisley eyeshadows, but I think that I’ll save that money for some more unique shade.

The rest of make-up products on this picture are also close to finishing – I think that this month I’ll finish Dior eyeliner, Guerlain Rouge G, Benefit and Chanel lipstick, as well as Guerlain Gloss and Benefit Benetint.

When it comes to the skincare items on this picture (samples mostly), I have finished the following:

Nivea All in 1 Cleanser -nothing special, I won’t repurchase.

Sisley Creme Reparatrice – good, I like the smell very much, but not worth over $150 for a jar.

Sisley Neck Cream – I won’t review it, because I use it now and then. I can only say that it didn’t do anything bad, but I’m too young to see its possible firming benefits.

L’Occitane Hair Mask – I like it, it makes my hair really soft and I can’t believe that I still haven’t written a review lol :)

The last photo feautes some body-care and, skincare and primers.

I have spent all shower gels and body lotions on this picture:

Pivoine Flora shower gel – ok, but thte scent is a bit too floral for me.

Almond Shower Oil – excellent, but there’s something in the scent that is bothering me.

Shea Butter Shower cream – excellent, very mild and moisturizing, possible full-size repurchase.

Pivoine Flora Body Milk – the scent is a bit too floral, otherwise ok

Avene Body Oil – horrible, it doesn’t do nothing

Clarins Instant Light – ok, but I want to try some other shade before making the final decision.

What’s best, these were not the only products I have spent.

The following products are also gone from the stash:

Dior Cleansing Oil – I won’t repurchase because it stings my eyes; otherwise it is a decent make-up remover.

Diadermine Hydra Matt moisturizer – excellent, probably the only one which could really cure my dehydrated skin. My skin misses it very much : (

Sisley Hydra Global – I’m currently using several samples and one sample is finished. I’ll write a full review, but for now it is enought to say that there’s nothing “hydra” in it.

Sisley Sisleya Global anti ageing cream – I have finished one GWP sample in order to repair the damage caused by Hydra Global.

Avene Gentle Face Scrub – I’m not a fan of it. The scrubbing particles are too big to do a good job.

Bioderma Photoderm AKN spf 30 sunscreen sample – I love it. I’m definitely getting a full-size.

I’ll really hope that I’ll manage to continue like this – it didn’t seem much, but put on the screen, It seems like I have finished many items.

Do you do such low buy projects (and how successful you are)?

Thank you for reading.

New Year resolution: LOW BUY

Yeah, it’s a bit late for New Year resolutions, but I couldn’t find time to post it earlier. I’m planning to start a low-buy. I’ve had similar projects before (Project 10 Pans) that were semi-successful – I did spend some products (you can see that some are missing in my Stash inventory), but I didn’t managed to curb my spending (the disadvantage of being a beauty blogger and a make-up addict:).

After contemplating how, I’ve devised a project which, I hope, has the greatest chance to succeed.

I have started to implement it at the beginning of the year – I was broke from Christmas so I didn’t have much chance (or means) to shop.

First I have created the following rules:

Project 10 Pans and Sample Challenge Update #4

It’s been ages from my last update. I can’t believe it took me so long to finally spend all of these products. However, I haven’t been as disciplined when it comes to the new purchases. I’ve got several nailpolishes and a primer. I’m also planning on a foundation purchase (even thought I have half a bottle of Clarins Everlasting and half a bottle of Dior Airflash) if the foundation I’m currently testing proves it is worth it.

Here are the original posts: Project 10 Pans, Sample Challenge

Project 10 Pans Samples Challenge

During spring, I’ve made a plan of finally finishing some products from my stash. I haven’t updated it for a while, but it is only because I haven’t managed to spend anything. Later I have also announced a possibility to include more samples in the challenge.

Last week I have finally managed to find some time so I’ve been rearranging my cosmetics storage and I have figured out that I have tons of samples and testers. As I’m a bit afraid that they don’t go bad, I’ve picked several products I would like to spend. Some of these are already reviewed, as I’ve been using them before, but some I’ll have to test for the first time. I will only write a review if the product was tested for at least a week of daily usage.

Sisley haul + Project 10 Pans Update #3

It’s been a long time since my last Project 10 Pans update. I have finally spent more product, so when I count in 2 extra spent products from update #1, 3 products form update #2 and eight products featured in today’s update, I feel like I deserve a reward.

Project 10 Pans: Update #2

You thought that I have forgotten about my Project 10 Pans? Well, I didn’t.

Here’s another update with the items I have spent in the last three weeks, since the Update #1.

The last two weeks have been really slow and I didn’t spend so many products. But the good thing is that many are close to finishing, so I hope that soon, I’ll be rid of many more items.

But for now, this are the products that are gone:

Dove Pro Age Body Lotion (yes, I have finally gotten rid of this horrible, horrible product)

Estee Lauder Spotlight (if you by chance own this product, please cut the tube, as I have found out that even when I couldn’t squeze anything out, there was over 5 ml of cream left in the tube).

Clarins Pink Clay mask.

As I have said, it is not much, but still, it is 3 products less.

And not to forget, ever since I have realized that Meteories Illuminating Perfecting Pressed Powder  is being discontinued (I don’t know why, because this pressed powder is the best out there), I’ve been searching to stock up. I have found an amazing deal ($35), so I’ve got Mythic Parfait, which I will save for the winter.

CATRICE – Impressions of the new product + Project 10 Pans Reward Haul

I have finally decided to award myself for managing to spend eight items from my Project 10 Pans.

Since the new Catrice make-up has finally arrived in the stores, I’ve got myself two nailpolishes: #460 In the Bronx (golden) and #490 Iron Mermaiden (purple-gray). I think that the latter will be the absolute hit.

They have also launched a lot of other fabulous shades, but these two have caught my eye first. The nailpolish now costs 19,90 kunas.

This is the swatch of Iron Mermaiden. I’m sorry, but it is very messy, since I wanted to swatch it as soon as possible, and the nailpolish hadn’t even dried yet. I’ll provide better swatches tomorrow.

Project 10 Pans: Update #1

As most of you probably know, not long ago I’ve started my Project 10 pans, which will help me to finally spend some of the items that I’ve been keeping half-spent in my stash for years (I think that the oldest item is Guerlain Kiss Kiss Maxi Shine lipstick, which is over 5 years old, and surprisingly, even now it is the same as it was the day I bought it – it didn’t changed the texture or the smell).

The list of all the items I’m planning to spend can be found here:

Project 10 Pans: Part 3 – Body and Haircare

Last Saturday, I’ve announced my new project through which I’m hoping to finally get rid some of the stuff from my stash. There are 42 product on the list, so I’ve split them up into three parts (makeup, skincare, body and haircare).

Project 10 Pans: Part 2 – Skincare

I have announced my Project 10 Pans and the rules I’m planning to stick to in this post.

This post will feature all the skincare items I want to finally spend. Most of the items are already half-spent, but for some reason, I got bored with them and put them aside. This project will finally help me to get rid of all that stuff that is wasting the space in my cosmetics cabinet.

Project 10 Pans: Part 1 – Make-Up

I’m sure that many of you have heard for Project 10 Pans. It is a less radical version of no-buy, where you are not allowed to purchase anything new until you have spent 10 products from your stash.

Yesterday, I’ve been organizing my stash and found tons of items that are almost finished and which are only wasting space. I’ve decided that it is a high time for me to get rid of those items, so I’ve started my own Project 10 Pans (or in my version Project 42 Pans) in which I’m hoping to finally spend all of these products (and to save some money, of course, because I’ve got my eye on Dior Summer collection).

In the past, I’ve been starting such a project, but soon I would cave in and the project would fail. This time I’ve decided to post about the project on-line, hoping that it will force me to stick with it.

I’ve formed these rules:

    – I’m allowed to buy only essential items at any time (such as a moisturizer, a foundation, a cleanser or a mascara)

    – after I spend first 8 products, I’m allowed to purchase only one thing, as a reward for myself (luckily for me, many of the products are sample of GWP size, so it shouldn’t be too hard)

Plus several additional rules:

    – I’ll stop carrying all my credit cards with me

    – the amount of cash I’m carrying with me must not be enough to get any make-up item

This post features the first part of my project which concerns make-up. I’ve only put one eyeshadow palette in this project, as it would be impossible to spend even half of mine eyeshadows.

I’m including links for:

Part 2 – skincare

Part 3 – hair and bodycare
