Fleurissante is moving to a new adress!

Dear readers,

first I would like to say how gratefull I am to you all for your support here on Fleurissante. This blog has been opened over two years ago when I decided that, since I have so much make-up, I could write about it too. Fleurissante has brought me many good things (and none of the bad) and I have met many nice people through the blog.

However, because of the upcoming changes, I’ve decided to move the blog to a new adress: Tamara’s blog (mademoiselletamara.wordpress.com). I know that this will be starting from a scratch, but I hope that you’ll support the new blog like you supported Fleurissante and that we will continue to have fun together on mademoiselletamara. You can find all the new contact information below.

The new blog is already up and I have moved all the posts from Fleurissante there (that’s why the pictures still have Fleurissante watermark). Once I organize it a bit better, I’ll organize a giveaway, so stay in touch.

Thank you so much for your support.

Love,

Tamara

Voli vas,

Tamara

Hello lovelies,

how’s your week so far? Mine has been incredibly busy and boring – all work and no play, so today I’ll publish just one Instagram post. On Instagram (@tamara_fleurissante) I publish the things from my life, which is, as you can see from the pictures, currently very boring.

Zdravo dragi,

Hello dear readers,

today has been a busy day, but I have finally managed to to find time and visit Zagreb (I miss it so much).  I did a bit of shopping and a bit of sightseeing. I’m too tired to write a coherent post, so here are some pictures from Instagram. You can find me there under tamara_fleurissante.

Malo sam kupovala i malo razgledavala grad. Možete me tamo pronaći pod imenom tamara_fleurissante.

Hello dear readers,

I wish a happy Christmas to those who celebrate it :) I hope that you have enjoyed this beautiful day and that you have received many wonderful gifts.

I’m using this chance to say that I suffer from addiction to Instagram ever since I got my new phone (my ancient Motorola finally died). So, you can find me on Instagram under tamara_fleurissante. Here, I’ll post whatever catches my eye during the day. Here are some photos from my Instagram account:

1. New in my wardrobe – grey suede ankle boots, cream scarf and wool socks

2. A photo taken during the stroll while I was tryingto burn the calories from Christmas lunch

3. An interesting light effect

4. Raindeer shaped holiday cookies

5. Small gifts for kids at work

1. Nove stvari u mojoj garderobi – sive antilop čizme do gležnja, krem šal i vunene dokoljenke

2. Slika uslikana dok sam šetajući pokušala potrošiti kalorije unesene oblinim božićnim ručkom

3. Zanimljiv svjetlosni efekt

URBAN DECAY Press Statement: Animal Testing and China

Really, Urban Decay?

How can a brand which is based on „we will never test on animals“ policy say that they plan to change the attitude of China towards animal testing by selling a cosmetics that WILL be tested on animals (as you know, the Chinese law requires that the cosmetics sold in China is tested on animals)?

I don’t blame them for the expansion – after all they are business and they need profit. What really bothers me is their hypocrisy (trying to blame it on China) and how they have tried to pack this into a humanitarian mission by giving up what they were based on to profit and then trying to sell it to the western customer as a mission to improve China. Yeah, really.

Whoever wrote that press sample managed not only to insult current Urban Decay customers, but also insult future customers in China, by practically saying that China is backward country and that they’ll try to change its backward ways. (Yes, I’m aware that China has its issues (humar rights, etc…), but it is up to China to solve their problems, not to Urban Decay).

I would appreciate them more if they simply told something like: „Okay guys, I know thhat we were against the animal testing, but China is too big a market to ignore it, so we’re giving up our policies in order to establish the brand in China.“

I won’t throw out that little bit of Urban Decay I have, but I certainly won’t purchase anything more. At least this finally killed my lemming on Naked palettes.

You can read the press sample at Temptalia.

What is your opinion on this?

On these two pictures you can see my currently favourite fruit. I swear, that’s almost all I eat these days. I am especially addicted to a strawberry puree, made by mixing normal and wild strawberries and adding a pinch of sugar.

One Lovely Blog Award

Two weeks ago, Bee from Bee Loves Beauty blog has tagged me for One Lovely Blogger award.

Thank you so much, Bee.

The purpose of this tag is to share 7 random facts about yourself

1. I like reading books.

2. I hate buying clothes and I hate vanity sizes (H&M, do you hear me!?). Getting me think that I’m size 36 (when I know for sure that I’m 44) won’t put me in the mood for purchasing a dress. Instead, I’ll probably be pissed off because I have to bring absolutely every size of one dress to see which actually fits, which is time consuming.

3. I love spending time outside.

4. I’m excellent, and a bit obsessive with organisation and making lists. It is a shame that I just can’t stick to the schedules I make.

5. I always do the things in the last moment. It seems that I function better when I’m under stress.

6. I love cooking, but if I cook or bake something, I rarely eat it.

7. And the last one – I always like to bend rules. To demonstrate this, I won’t tag any particular bloger, but I’ll tag all of my readers – if you have a blog, you can write this on it, or you can just add it in the comments section.

7 DEADLY SINS of BEAUTY – Make-up Edition

I’ve seen this type of questionnaire all over the web recently and I found it interesting, so I’ve decided to do it for fun. I’ll separate make-up and skincare into two posts.

INTERLUDE #1

(Cyclamen persicum from my garden)

I’m afraid that there will be no Friday Favourites this week as I haven’t left the house at all – it is so cold outside that even penguins would freeze to death.

I love snow, but this white monotony has started to bore me to death. I can’t wait for spring and summer to colour up my life.

Here are several colourful pictures to get you through the last days of winter.

New Year resolution: LOW BUY

Yeah, it’s a bit late for New Year resolutions, but I couldn’t find time to post it earlier. I’m planning to start a low-buy. I’ve had similar projects before (Project 10 Pans) that were semi-successful – I did spend some products (you can see that some are missing in my Stash inventory), but I didn’t managed to curb my spending (the disadvantage of being a beauty blogger and a make-up addict:).

After contemplating how, I’ve devised a project which, I hope, has the greatest chance to succeed.

I have started to implement it at the beginning of the year – I was broke from Christmas so I didn’t have much chance (or means) to shop.

First I have created the following rules:

Fleurissante’s Favourites 2011

Happy New Year!!!

I wish you all the best in the next 2012. May it be much, much better than the previous one.

Fleurissante’s Favourites lists my favourites products in the last year. It doesn’t matter if they were freshly released or something available for a long time, which I have discovered the last year – the only thing that matters is that this are the products which have come closely to the Holy Grail status.

Post-Christmas Rambling, Chocolate Pralines and Gifts

I haven’t really posted much the past week, as I was busy with the preparations (mostly cleaning and baking cakes and cookies). 12 hours and one and a half kilo of chocolate later, I had 300 pralines (filled with raisins and chocolate cream).

I hope you have had a lovely white Christmas and that you have found what you wanted underneath the Christmas tree :)

I have many reviews prepared for several weeks – several of which will be foundation reviews. Since my Clarins Everlasting foundation comes to an end (and I cannot find my shade anymore in Croatia), I’ve been looking for something new. Chanel really made me happy with the colour range of their Perfection Lumiere range, so I have found a sample of the lightest shade and during the last week I’ve been testing it. I still have to take photos of the face swatch (btw for some reason my skin is completely horrible for the last month and a half – I know for sure it isn’t the skincare regime, but I hope it is because of stress and not anything more serious). I’m also waiting for Oriflame Studio Artist foundation. I have really liked the sample I had, and I believe that it will be a good light-coverage foundation option. There are also several other skincare reviews prepared, as well as tighlining tutorial and another guest post by Aleya.

You can let me know which of the above mentioned items you’d like me to review first :)

Merry Christmas!

I wish Merry Christmas to all of my readers.

I hope you’ll enjoy your holidays,

FRAGRANCE Stash

I’ve already shown my make-up collection. Now, I think it is time to talk about fragrance.

I’m not a great fragrance collector – I usually buy one fragrance in the smallest packaging possible (30ml) which lasts for cca 6 months and then I switch to the new one.

My taste in fragrances has changed extremely – while I was little I loved heavy chypres. As a teenager I have switched towards orientals – but with a slight masculine note. In my late teens I liked woody orientals, while the appreciation of florals came only in my 20s, after an identity crisis.

On the tray you can see all the fragrance I have bought in my life (only Fragonard Miranda is missing). I have a rule that I never spend the fragrance completely – I always save several millilitres in case the fragrance is going to be discontinued.

Fleurissante – Snippets

I was planning for this post to feature some short things I want to say but which separately wouldn’t merit a post. I should probably start using Twitter of Facebook for such things, but alas, for my other occupation I don’t feel I would be able to interact as much as I would like to.

  • I’m planning my first giveaway, so stay tuned. I wanted to have one for my first anniversary, however, me not being home stopped this. The prize will be small – probably a lipstick, lipgloss or a nail-polish (high-end, of course). Nevertheless, you can expect it during October, so check on this blog from time to time (or subscribe to get announcements) :-)
  • Have question about skincare? Dr. Douglas Hamilton has “Ask Dr.Hamilton” question session where you can ask the doctor anything you’d like to know about skincare. The first session will be on 16th September 2011 at 1PM (Pacific Time – this is at 20.00 GMT). You can either connect via #310-271-6663 (USA only) or via Twitter (http://twitter.com/deepskincarecom) by simply attach the hashtag #AskDrHamiltonFridays to your tweeted questions.
  • INGLOT has finally opened their Croatian store again. I immediately got one flaky nail-polish and I will definitely get one palette – as soon as I find the colour combination I like. I also noticea a gorgeous warm lavender purple pigment with golden shimmer.
  • Illamasqua will be opening their store in Croatia soon, too. I’ve checked their assortment on-line and the only thing that really impressed me are nail polishes. If you think that there are more not-to-miss Illamasqua products, feel free to give me a recommendation.
  • I’ve decided that I definitely won’t get Chanel Quad in Prelude. However, Graphite nail polish is still on the list (just like more Illusion d’Ombre eyeshadows).
  • On the other hand, I absolutely adore Sublime de Chanel mascara. If I weren’t a beauty blogger, I’d never buy anything else besides it. While it could be a bit more volumizing, the formula is absolutely perfect. It’s been 6 month and the formula is still as good as new. To tell you the truth, I absolutely hate mascaras which clump after a month. I’m glad that Sublime is different. I may even try some other Chanel mascara.

That’s all for today :)

Love,

Tamara
